Become a Sputnik Patron today, and help Christian artists to flourish and grow as they serve the common good of society.
How do artists serve society?
Artists create the emotional soil for spiritual change. Every day, the arts is what gently lifts people’s heads up from the facts and figures of ‘mere survival’ into a place of greater openness: a place where faith can grow. Music, film, dance, theatre, fiction, painting — like the great Creation itself — can interrupt, cut through and awaken people’s dormant questions. As one of our great scriptural poems says: “Deep calls to deep.”
Artists are preparing ground that leads to deeper conversation and spiritual growth, for the good of everyone.
How your Patronage helps artists
Sputnik supports artists in a number of ways: putting on regular events to encourage and support them in their work and faith, providing mentoring, and helping them form deeper relationships with both church community and their local surroundings. Most significantly for our Patrons, we have a flourishing grants scheme that gives out £500 grants three times a year, for a huge variety of projects.
Access to an arts career, except for the wealthy, is the worst it’s been in decades. Patrons support Christians working in the arts, today: show them that the Church has not forgotten the importance of the work that is “theirs to do”, by trusting them and giving them the means to do it.
